"dead" gardening

I have such a brown thumb. It is ridiculous. I've tried to grow all kinds of things in my two front entry planters and I can't keep both sides alive to save my life. Then, just before the holidays, I read in Better Homes and Gardens about "dead" arrangements in planters.

No watering? No tending?

I was sold!

I used dried pussy willow that I already had.

As well as magnolia leaves from our tree and leftover Christmas tree branches.

I secured them all into a floral ring.

A month later, a wind storm, and a snow storm later, it still looks good as new!

And I haven't thought twice about it.
