You know you wanted a closer look...
Walking in from the master bedroom
I framed one of the old tiles, to remind us how far we've come
View from inside the shower... that glass used to be a wall!
Frank was right, we need to change out the doorknob
(something we need to do throughout the house)
It never ends :)
Obsessed with out marble hex floors
Pretty fond of this find from Macy's! It ties the bathroom to the bedroom perfectly.
I really could not have found a more perfect one if I'd tried!

Love how you framed the tile, great idea and such a neat bathroom remodel!
ReplyDeleteIt's really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteJust lovely! I am so glad I randomly came across your blog. It seems we have similar homes - or at least bathrooms! Mine started out yellow instead of green though :) We put down hex floors, subway tile in the shower, and beadboard on the walls. I'm considering adding a glass shower door, and this post may have convinced me! I also love your headboard tutorial and will be using it as inspiration! Can't wait to read more :)
ReplyDeleteI really love the colours you have used in your bathroom. Can you let us know what paint you have used for the walls and panels? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSusanne, the bathroom looks GREAT! I love the framed tile, and check out the patterns of your br rug, and Mom-mom's tile!

ReplyDeletelove your bathroom, especially the hex flooring!
ReplyDeletegorgeous. we have a 1958 pink bathroom and green bathroom!!
ReplyDeletedid you put the beadboard over the wall tile?
beautiful! Loved how you framed the tile!!!
ReplyDeleteLove love love! This bathroom (before) is shockingly similar to ours...same green tile, same cave-shower. Your transformation is so inspiring! I'm pinning to remember for our remodel! (Here from YHL)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your YHL feature - you totally deserve it! This makeover is breathtaking! I'm sure it cost a bunch of blood, sweat, and tears, but it's so completely worth it.
ReplyDeleteGreat job!!

I also would like to kow if you put the beadboard OVER the tile.
ReplyDeleteWe did not. We demoed the entire bathroom down to the studs.... and started completely fresh!
DeleteI love the remodel! We have looked at using that same hexagon tile in our powder room, but our tile guy discouraged us saying it will scratch too easily and chip?! What has been your experience? I love it so much I may do it anyways, but I would love to know how it has been now that you are using your bathroom. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had ANY problems with scratching. I would use a sealer and go for it! :) A powder room shouldn't get all that much traffic either.... so hopefully it will hold up. I'd just recommend using marble specific cleaners.
DeleteHi. Love your bathroom remodel. Thanks for sharing. My husband and I would like to remodel our bath as well. How much room is between the toilet and the wall (how much space to you have to enter the shower)? We would like to install a glass shower door, but are concerned about being able to open the door all the way to enter. Does your shower door open to the inside?
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks!! The space between the shower door and toilet is tiny! Our shower door opens into the shower and it works great for us. Good luck on your remodel! It is so worth it in the end!
DeleteGORGEOUS!!! Looks like you got all new cabinets! I love ALL the details, but especially the back splash and the counters! GREAT job!!!
