After ripping out all that tile, we were left with VERY uneven floors. Only way to fix it was to pour new concrete....
Have you ever tried to pour concrete level-ly (I know, not a word).
It is I.M.P.O.S.S.I.B.L.E. !
See! I actually AM doing some of the work in this bathroom.
The floor did not go so well. Thankfully, Frank's dad came to the rescue and helped create the shower pan (meanwhile, Frank's mom and I kept busy by painting the bedroom. More on that later, I promise).
Pretty perfect, if you ask me.
Now, Frank and I have to re-pour the other section of the floor and try again.

Wow, what a job! I wouldn't even know where to start.
ReplyDeletePerhaps I'm mistaken, but aren't shower floors supposed to have a slight slope towards the drain for better drainage? Less likely to get mildewy corners that way.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct, it is hard to tell in the pictures but it is angled. We also sanded it down some when it dried to create more of an angle for optimal drainage. It was very difficult though, next time we'd probably get a pre-made one!
